Football Geniusby Tim Green

It’s football time in Tennessee so Tim Green’s book FOOTBALL GENIUS looked like a good choice for this month’s review. The author, an eight year veteran of the NFL, has written many other children’s sports books.
The book’s main character, Troy White, is a football genius because he can predict any play before it happens. Although he has a unique talent, his poor choices land him in trouble instead of on the sidelines of a National Football League Team.
He lives in Atlanta where he plays junior football with his friends Tate and Nathan. His mom gets a new job with the public relations department of the Atlanta Falcons and Troy was very happy. He becomes a total Falcon fan. He was elated when his mom brought home field passes but what he really wanted was official Falcon football. Never mind that he had already stolen one from star linebacker Seth Halloway. He has lied to his mom about this and many other things. He is not sure about how to make everything right but is sure that when he looks at an opposing teams lineup he can predict what they are going to do next. His intuitive skills land him right in the arms of the security guards at the next game. His mother risks her job to prove her son is right. What happens next is a nail biter of an ending. I suggest this book for any boy or girl who loves football.
As Vol fans, lets all hope that Coach Fulmer shares Troy’s intuitive abilities this season.
