What woman hasn’t grown tired of the constant routine of going to the gym three times a week in an effort to get back, or stay, in shape? If this sounds familiar, then women of Knoxville gear up for the ride of your life. The Hard Knox Roller Girls (HKRG) is an all female flat track roller derby league located right here in Knoxville.
These women have been “skating into” this not-so-traditional approach to physical fitness and female camaraderie since January of 2006, and represent women from “all walks of life.” The program includes supervised training, instruction, and competitions to prepare its members to represent Knoxville at a national level. To further the appeal of the HKRG, it is incredibly simple to get on board! The girls host a monthly "Meet & Greet," which is held on the last Sunday of every month, and open to all interested participants. And, if you feel you lack the necessary experience on the track…no need to worry; the only requirements are that members be over the age of 18 and female.
