Another favorite ingredient is coconut oil. “While it’s still a fat and should be consumed in moderation, it’s a fatthat burns fat, so it’s a great healthy substitute for other cooking oils.”Two main ingredients to limit inyour diet: sodium and sugar. Foundin abundance in many grocery items, these ingredients add up quickly and can do real damage to your heartand liver. For extra  avor without the damage, experiment with international cuisine, especially with Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and Asian spices. Not only will these spices boost  avor— they boost your metabolism and immune system. “Pink Himalayan salt is better than regular salt because of its mineral composition,” says Williams. While regular salt can spike your blood pressure, Himalayan salt can actually decrease it. As a bonus, it will also help bone health and metabolism. “In winter time,” says Williams, “I love using spices that warm you up and help the immune system  ght colds.
