Not quite
a full-time,
fully vested job and
certainly not a vacation, an internship often occupies
a special place in the life of the American college
student. Here at
Cityview
, interns have been joining
our staff for a summer or a semester for more than
a decade. Many from the University of Tennessee,
but also from all over the country, these young men
and women learn a few tricks of the trade and also
contribute immeasurably to the culture, atmosphere,
and quality of our office and magazine. In this issue
of
Cityview
, we are featuring work not only from our
current intern, but also from three former interns
from the past school year who produced exceptional
work while working in our office’Äîand have now
returned as freelance writers and fellow professionals.
