Festival
Forty-six foot long dragon
boats raced through the Cove
at Concord Park as part of
the Knoxville Area Rescue
Ministries Dragon Boat
Festival, which took place on
June 22. Sixty-two teams, each
comprised of 20 rowers, a
drummer, and a steerer, raised
over $251,000 for the non-profit
organization, and Rick Cox
Construction earned the gold
medal with a time of 1 minute,
.084 seconds. Knoxville Area
RescueMinistries assists the
poor and homeless through
food and gift donations, and
the Dragon Boat Festival is
one of many local events that
raisemoney and awareness
