Moving back out into the main hallof the house, you come to the powder room on your le . The décor and design focuses around a mirror that Danaand Gina bought on their honeymoon14 years ago in Paris. This mirror has been whitewashed and distressed and lends an air of Parisian re nement tothis hip-pocket space. The vanity was custom made by Tom Blue, as was allthe cabinetry throughout the house. This room contains a nostalgic black-and- white photograph of Gina’s mother, taken sometime in the ies. She is in pro le, holding one of her babies in the air, and her delighted smile infuses the room. The large living area and open kitchen has a substantial co ered ceiling and is painted in shades of cream. The barley- twist chairs, deep sofas, and simple window treatments make this an open bright and cheery room. “Bryan from Home Choice said the only house that has more windows than his!” says Dana. Gina wanted to compliment the windows with a clean and so feel. Working with Sue Gerrish at Budget Blinds she chose white linen with custom matched chrome hardware. A generous replace scheduled to have a glass front and the oversizescale of the mantle makes the room feel contemporary without being cold.146JANUARY FEBRUARY 2017
