Accounting Made Easy

Amelse & Edmonds helps business owners spend less time worrying about the books and more time building their businesses.

Running a business means making decisions all day long. Hiring another employee. Investing in equipment. Taking on a bigger project. Each choice has financial consequences, and making it confidently takes more than a stack of receipts and a tax return. It takes an accounting team that knows your business, keeps your numbers current, and helps you see what comes next. At Amelse & Edmonds, owner Michelle Amelse and her team bring those pieces together through full-service accounting designed to make business ownership easier.

The relationship works best for owners who want ongoing support: someone to keep the books in order, prepare financial statements, answer questions, and plan for taxes throughout the year. Instead of letting accounting become another job squeezed into evenings and weekends, clients have a dedicated accountant who understands their business. When that person is away, another team member steps in, keeping questions moving and clients supported.

That personal attention extends to the everyday details. Clients typically handle their own customer invoicing, while the firm imports transactions, matches them to invoices, and makes sure the accounts reconcile. Monthly financial statements help owners understand how the business is performing. Behind those numbers are people paying attention. As Amelse explains, “it's not just an automated process; it's an actual accounting professional looking at every transaction.” For an owner juggling employees, customers, and daily operations, that oversight means one less responsibility competing for attention.

Keeping the books current also makes tax planning more useful. The team reviews tax planning at least quarterly, giving clients opportunities to discuss decisions while there is still time to act. Equipment purchases, changing profits, and anticipated tax obligations become part of an ongoing conversation. “We're very big on being proactive versus reactive,” Amelse says. By tax-filing season, the previous year is over. Working together during the year gives the firm a chance to help clients prepare and identify opportunities to reduce their tax burden.

The payoff continues when it is time to file. Amelse says the firm completes company tax returns for most full-service clients by mid-February, with missing documentation sometimes affecting that timing. That early progress gives owners more time to address their personal returns, too. The work has been happening all along, making tax season the next step in an established process instead of a scramble to reconstruct an entire year.

The firm is growing alongside its clients. A new office roughly doubles its previous space, and additions to its accounting, bookkeeping, and administrative teams create room to serve more businesses. Amelse is also exploring technology that can improve efficiency and speed research, while keeping personal service and the security of client information central to the practice.

For businesses whose books need attention, Amelse recommends getting started in November or December, when catching up and reviewing the year can still support meaningful planning. For owners ready for a lasting change, full-service accounting offers something even more valuable: a team that knows the numbers, understands the business, and helps make the next decision easier.
